CliffeNotes: Harmony and Chaos is an album of instrumental tracks to live your life to. All songs were recorded using Bitwig on Linux. This has involved quite a lot of soundscape work, tweaking patches and instrument settings: for example, the guitar distortion was achieved by crafting complex FX-chains in Bitwig, and most synth patches used have been created or customised. Recorded using a Gibson Les Paul HD.6X-Pro Digital Guitar, which provides individual string separation in the mix (listen for the stereo guitar mixes), and using an Arturia KeyLab49. Absolutely no looped sample audio clips have been used in the creation of this music.
There are elements of post-industrial rock (reminiscent of Nine Inch Nails, Puscifer, Error, Coil), post-rock (Isis), and other alternative rock/metal/folk influences (Gary Numan, How to Destroy Angels, Muse, The Naked and Famous, Skrillex, Brian Eno, Placebo, Coheed and Cambria, The Kills, Tool, Dillinger Escape Plan, Silverchair, A Perfect Circle, Depeche Mode, David Bowie), and David Allen's GTD and Todoist helped work this project into a busy life.
